This course covers the system and database administration functions of
the StorHouse/RM relational database. Topics include user accounts and
privileges and the creation of databases, tablespaces, tables, and indexes.
The different indexing strategies available in a StorHouse/RM database
(value, range and hash) are discussed. The architecture of StorHouse/RM
and the interaction between StorHouse/SM and StorHouse/RM are presented.
This course assumes knowledge of relational database management concepts
and knowledge of SQL DDL and DML statements.

Knowledge of relational database management, SQL DDL and DML syntax

Upon completion of this course the students will:
Understand the relationship between StorHouse/SM and StorHouse/RM
Have
an understanding of the application uses of StorHouse/RM
Learn
the database structure, system tables, and storage components related
to StorHouse/RM
Understand
the database privileges associated with an account on the StorHouse/SM
Know
how to create databases, tablespaces, tables, and indexes
Understand StorHouse/RM indexing options and strategies
Be
able to use the METADATA BACKUP utility to backup system tables
