The StorHouse Host Software is installed on the client system to enable communication between that system and the StorHouse server. Versions are available for IBM Mainframe, UNIX, and Windows environments.

The StorHouse Host Software for IBM Mainframe platforms (version 1.7) supports OS/390 and z/OS operating systems. It consists of the following components:

  • StorHouse Subsystem - transfers data, control information, and status between user application programs and StorHouse through a direct channel connection.

  • Callable Interface - provides a link between StorHouse and user application programs.

  • Interactive Interface - enables users to enter StorHouse Command Language requests and receive responses interactively.

  • File Transfer Interface - supplies services required to use the StorHouse Command Language GET and PUT commands.

  • CICS Interface - provides a Callable Interface to StorHouse for CICS Command Level application programs written in any CICS-supported programming language.

Other features include SMP/E installation, an operator message facility, customizable installation exits, and SMF recording.

UNIX Environments
The StorHouse Host Software for UNIX (version 2.4) consists of Callable and Interactive Interface components that enable application programs and users to communicate with StorHouse from Sun Solaris (5.6 or later) or Hewlett Packard HP-UX (11.x) hosts.
