StorHouse for EMC CenteraMaking Fixed Content Applications Centera-Ready - page 2 StorHouse/RFS For
file-level applications StorHouse/RFS is easy to use with existing applications. It presents itself to a client host as a remote volume, or drive. Applications use this drive, or virtual file system, as the storage location for their fixed content data. The virtual file system is simply a mount point or shared drive. To an application, it looks like any other available disk or drive. Applications use StorHouse/RFS to archive and access files through standard file I/O methods supported by their platform's operating system (for example, NFS, NTFS, and CIFS). The net result is a transparent, seamless solution that can be rapidly deployed into production. Figure 2 illustrates how different applications can access data using StorHouse for EMC Centera.
