Metro Tech Councils Bestow FileTek's CFO With Community Service Award
- William P. Loomis Recognized for Diverse Public Contributions Rockville, MD (June 6, 2003) - FileTek, Inc., a data management software developer, announced today that its Chief Financial Officer, William P. Loomis, was awarded the 2003 Community Service Award during ceremonies last evening at The Greater Washington Technology CFO Awards. The presentation, which recognizes extraordinary financial executives, took place at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The Northern Virginia Technology Council, Tech Council of Maryland, and the DC Tech Council cooperatively organized the CFO Awards. The Community Service Award is given to a Chief Financial Officer or Financier who, in addition to excelling at his/her job, has given his/her time and energy to improving the Greater Washington region's technology community. Besides fulfilling his duties as FileTek's CFO, Mr. Loomis contributes much personal time to various activities including acting as Board Member and the Chair of both the Audit and Investment Committees for the Literacy Council of Montgomery County. Last week, he was elected to additionally serve as the Chair that Council's Budget Committee. He is also a Senior Mentor for MBA graduate students for the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business Alumni Mentor Program, and is a member of the university's Dean's Advisory Council for the Smith School of Business. In addition, Mr. Loomis acts as Chair of the Northern Virginia Technology Council CFO Success Stories Committee and is a member of the Tech Council of Maryland CFO Forum Steering Committee. Mr. Loomis also serves as FileTek's Chief Operating Officer as well as the Chief Financial Officer for Centennial Computer Corporation, a related company. "In addition to professionally excelling at his demanding job responsibilities, Bill represents FileTek well in everything he does, including his community involvement," said William C. Mr. Loomis has over 20 years' experience in high technology finance and administration. He joined FileTek in 1987.
