Office Win "Process Innovation Award" - Massive Database Implementation at the U.K. Weather Service Honored Rockville, MD (August 6, 2001) – FileTek, Inc., a data storage and access management solutions provider, and the Met. Office, the weather service of the United Kingdom, today announced that together they won Kinetic Information’s 2001 “Process Innovation Award” in the Government category. The award recognizes the Met. Office’s unique use of information technology to support global warming research. FileTek designed and implemented this technology at the Met Office’s headquarters in Bracknell, England. Judging was performed by an independent panel of industry analysts for Kinetic Information, a research and professional services firm that provides business consulting on technology matters. The honor will be presented at the eSolutions World Conference and Expo on Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at McCormick Place in Chicago. “This is a fantastic award to be bestowed on us and the Met. Office,” said Ann Dyball, Regional Area Manager at FileTek, Ltd. (U.K.) in London. “Whenever hard work and dedication by both the prime contractor and customer are recognized by a third party, it is indeed very special.
