FileTek Releases Oracle-Transparent StorHouse Software Solution - Oracle Users Can Now Extend Storage while Easing Back-Up Burdens

Anaheim, CA (May 8, 2000) – FileTek, Inc. today announced that its advanced data management and access software, StorHouse®, now seamlessly connects with Oracle database applications. By employing StorHouse, Oracle® users will be allowed to extend their data management capability to virtually unlimited size over all storage media, including on-line tape. The announcement was made at the Alive! 2000 Oracle Users Group Conference, held in Anaheim, California.

StorHouse does not require any modification of Oracle to provide it with detailed, atomic data, so investments in Oracle applications, tools, methods, and skilled data base administrators are protected.

StorHouse, the High Technology Council of Maryland's IT Product of the Year, is the only relational database that allows direct access to rows stored across all storage media (e.g., tape, RAID, optical). FileTek designed StorHouse to manage terabytes to petabytes of enterprise-wide atomic or detailed data, enabling the storage and exploitation of exhaustive business information, such as: Internet clickstream detail data, telephone call details, market basket data, and financial transactions.

"StorHouse will provide Oracle users with enhanced performance and scaling in a cost-effective way, expanding a company's ability to reach into the massive data assets vital for true enterprise initiatives in business intelligence and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)," said George Pasterak, FileTek's VP of Development.

"Combining StorHouse and Oracle can lighten the burden of data management tasks and address real world reliability and availability requirements," said Pasterak.

"This integration of StorHouse and Oracle is another advance in our efforts to provide open, transparent connectivity with a host of widespread third-party database applications," said Rob Simonds, FileTek's VP of Marketing. "For example, we recently announced our connectivity capability with Microsoft SQL Server 7 and expect to make other such announcements in the future."

StorHouse, with these new connectivity features, is available directly from FileTek. Please contact the company for a StorHouse white paper, pricing, or further information.
