FileTek and Ardent Software Announce Partnering Agreement

Rockville, MD (January 18, 2000) – FileTek, Inc. today announced that it has entered into a two-year consulting partner agreement with Ardent Software. Under the agreement, FileTek will now represent Ardent's products to its present and future customers, allowing them easier access and management of massive databases containing detail, or atomic, data. FileTek will also be able to design and implement its StorHouse® software solution for Ardent customers who want to draw detailed data from legacy mainframe sources, ERP systems and other databases.

Ardent’s DataStage Suite provides the foundation of an enterprise business intelligence and analytical application infrastructure and includes a complete data movement and integration solution with native access to data from mainframe, UNIX, and Windows NT environments; data quality assurance capabilities; and full lifecycle metadata management; all complemented by industry-leading professional services.

StorHouse is the only relational database that allows direct access to rows stored across all storage media (e.g., tape, RAID, optical). FileTek designed StorHouse to manage terabytes to petabytes of enterprise-wide atomic or detailed data, enabling the storage and exploitation of exhaustive business information such as, Internet clickstream detail data, telephone call details, market basket data, and financial transactions.
