James D. Ewing

Vice President, Storage Systems Development

As Vice President of Storage Systems Development, Mr. Ewing is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the FileTek development and engineering organizations. He has over 40 years’ of experience in the computer industry, including technical and management positions in programming, data center operations, and software development.

Mr. Ewing joined FileTek as a senior software developer soon after the company was founded . During his tenure at FileTek, he has been a direct technical contributor to and manager of numerous FileTek software development projects, including its mainframe interface for data storage products and its relational database product. In addition, Mr. Ewing is listed as one of the inventors on a key FileTek patent.

Prior to his appointment as Vice President, Mr. Ewing was the manager for all storage product software development. Before joining FileTek, Mr. Ewing held a number of positions of increasing technical and management responsibility, including software product manager and data center director for EDS, system programmer and systems programming manager for a computer service bureau, and software developer and analyst for a government contractor and a university computer center.

Mr. Ewing holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University and an M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Iowa.
